At just 10 years old, Micah began experiencing vision difficulties that required corrective glasses. Thanks to the early screening and intervention, her visual needs were identified and addressed at a crucial stage in her development.
Because her condition was detected early, Micah received the appropriate corrective support during an important period of visual development. This timely care helped ensure that her eyesight progressed positively over the next two years.
On 22 January 2026, Micah returned for her follow-up examination — and the results were remarkable.
Current Findings:
Unaided Visual Acuity: 6/6 in both eyes
Eye Movements: Full, smooth, and accurate
Fundoscopy: No abnormalities detected
Refraction: No spectacle correction required
Micah now has normal vision without the need for glasses.
During this recent examination, mild ocular allergies were identified. She has been provided with appropriate medication to manage her symptoms. With treatment, her eye health is expected to remain stable and comfortable.
This outcome demonstrates the life-changing impact of early screening, continuous monitoring, and timely treatment. Because supporters make it possible for Eyes of Africa to provide ongoing care — not just one-time screenings — children like Micah receive the follow-up attention necessary to protect their long-term vision.
Today, Micah enjoys clear sight, healthy eyes, and the confidence to thrive academically and socially.
Thank you for making stories like Micah’s possible.
